Yamaha Birch Custom Absolute Nouveaux Reviews 5

I custom ordered this drumset at a local guitar center... just the shell kit with a 22x18 bass, 8x10 , 9x12, 11x14, and 14x16 toms. and no snare. I got them for about $1900 without tax, but i got a really good deal from one of my friends who works there.

The drums are birch so obviousely they catch all the low-tones, and have alot of attack, but because of the amount of plies all the drums were really low, and the resonance amount was perfect. It was a great sounding kit, and didnt have to be tuned perfect to sound good even though i normally am realy picky about the tuning. The finish was incredible... IT was a black sparkle sunburst, fading from black to grey in the center. it had the sound, and beughty of a DW, while having the best mounting system there is. It has the yamaha ball mount arms which makes the drums able to be positioned practically anwhere...while the YESS mounting system didnt interfere with the lugs (making tuning harder like many drumsets), yet still did not enter the drum.

Honestly nothing. I replaced the top heads with evans genera g2 for the toms but thats about it.

The finish is very strong and resistant to scratch...ESP with the sparkle. The wood was quality was the same throughout, and the bearing edges were all PERFECT, the amount of contact with the head was just enough to produce resonance while not allowing the drum to over resonate.

This drumset overall I will use for the rest of my life. I couldnt ask for anything better, that is more versatile, beughtiful, or even sounds better.
